Before Cúram there was RecruitMe, a recruitment platform at the New Zealand Ministry of Social Development. I worked on its decommissioning and on migrating its data and functionality across into Cúram.
- Handled data migration from RecruitMe into Cúram.
- Lifted and shifted functionality across to the new platform.
- Delivered process uplifts alongside the migration, so it was not a pure lift and shift.
Why this matters more than it looks
There are three generations of the same national employment product: RecruitMe, then Cúram, then Salesforce. I migrated the first into the second, then led the heritage side of the second into the third.
That is the argument for the capability being portable rather than tied to a vendor. It is two moves across three platforms, not a single migration, and it is the substance behind two of the four reasons I was chosen as heritage lead on the replacement programme.
My approach to a migration is the same each time: field mapping and field context, data cleanliness, what gets reported on, existing integrations and the fields they depend on, downstream impacts, minimising what is migrated at all, and deciding how historical data is stored.
